I simply want to the time to write you and express my thanks to you and to the other people at Chapel of the Light for the incredible and loving service you rendered to the Diocese of San Joaquin at the time of the death of our beloved bishop John-David Schofield. Words cannot begin to express the gratitude in my heart and in the hearts of all the people with whom I have shared the story of your kindness. I was especially impressed with the large contingent of your people who were at the funeral itself, greeting us warmly and helping us enter St. Anthony of Padua. From the moment you arrived with an assistant to bishops home until we picked up the ashes several days ago, your respectfulness, professionalism, and warm regard were very comforting to all of us. The decision to defray all costs was beyond astounding to us and such an incredible gift and example of godly love not only for our bishop, but to all of us who witnessed this act of such uncommon generosity. We will never forget it. Your staff as well were both professional and extremely well organized and yet also personable and full of genuine kindness and concern. You surely were the very best example I have ever seen of the best of your profession. Your orgnization is aptly named: we really did experience you as the "Chapel of the Light" during a time when our chapels were darkened with shared grief, though we certainly rejoiced for the Bishop that he is in the presence of the Light of the World.
