Pete Daniel Hernandez was born on September 9, 1966, at 2pm, in Fowler, California, to Pedro Dominguez Hernandez (deceased) and Maria Teresa Avila. Maria Teresa Avila later married Glendon Blaine Bundy, who raised Pete as his own and was a loving father to Pete. Maria Teresa and Glendon went on to have three other children (Angelita Bundy, Crystal Schwabenland, and Ivan Bundy), in addition to Glendon's four children from his previous marriage, joining two Step-sisters and two Step-brothers (Scott Bundy, Paul Bundy, Christina Lawrence, Suzanne Latey), tallying seven siblings, along with four paternal siblings (Rosalinda Hernandez, Estela Hernandez, Albert Hernandez, Steve Hernandez). In his younger days, Pete loved track and field and competed in relay races and short distance sprints (one mile), often winning first place. Pete loved to play soccer, but most of all, Pete loved being a Cadet. He joined in the 7th grade and continued through high school. He was on the rifle team and was the #1 marksman. Pete also became a fantastic cook and was an expert chess player who could win in just a few moves and challenged everyone. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan, and he loved music and especially playing the guitar and drums. In 1982, Pete married his high school sweetheart, Concepcion (Connie) Gonzales. Pete and Connie conceived seven children between 1982 and 1987, Daniel Hernandez (deceased), Pete Anthony Hernandez III; twin sons Christopher Michael Hernandez and Nicholas Ryan Hernandez; triplet daughters Victoria Nicole Hernandez, Kristina Marie Hernandez, and Angela Joy Hernandez. As a result, the Hernandez family has been blessed with 19 precious grandchildren and continues to grow. Pete was and will always be an irreplaceable son, brother, husband, father, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend. He was fun-loving, thoughtful, honest, outspoken, and witty. He was known for being fearless, with a kind heart, and an undeniable charm. One couldn't help but love him. He had a unique zest for life. Pete Daniel Hernandez passed peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2023, at 11:35pm. He was in the comfort of his home under the care of his mother, stepfather John B. Soto, his sister Angelita, and aunt, Esther Avila. Pete's legacy will continue to live on through the love and memories of his family. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all.
