ANITA M. (HINCELOT) MEFFLEY Anita Meffley was reunited Thursday, March 30, 2017 with her loving husband, Richard, as she peacefully passed away. Anita was born to Stanley & Margurite (Hyatt) Hincelot, who lived in Mountain View, CA on January 17, 1925. Anita attended the University of Nevada, where she pledged as a legacy member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and where she met her future husband, who was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. Anita and Richard were married after his graduation in 1948 and settled in Sacramento. Anita has resided in Fresno, CA. since 1963, when Richard was transferred. Anita was a homemaker, but she also donated her time to the Assistance League of Fresno and supported the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation in which she was a Lifetime member. She enjoyed traveling with Richard to Northern California Golf Association tournaments in Monterey, and to the USGA Senior Amateur Championship, where Richard served on the rules committee. In her spare time Anita enjoyed playing bridge, reading, watching golf tournaments and spending time with her family. Anita was preceded by her husband, Richard W. Meffley. She was survived by her children, Richard Meffley, Ralph Meffley, Elaine Bayhi and husband Mark; grandchildren, Thomas Bayhi, Richard Bayhi, Andrew Bayqin and wife, Tracy Bayqin; and great grandchildren, Tegan, Kaelyn and Raegan Nicholas. The family would like to thank Megan Buckingham and the staff of Interim Healthcare for providing the excellent in-home care Anita received. A memorial mass will be held at St. Anthony's of Padua on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 10:00 am. She will later be interred with her husband, Richard at the Chapel of the Light. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in honor of Anita Meffley to the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation, 8740 Founders Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268. Anita M. Meffley was born Anita Margaret Hincelot, in Mountain View, California on January 17, 1925, the only child of parents Stanley and Marguerite (Hyatt) Hincelot. She passed away on March 30, 2017, at 92 years, 2 months, 13 days old. May She Rest in Peace. Elaine was an alumni of the University of Nevada, sorority girl and history major. The University of Nevada is where she met her husband Richard Meffley (Rest in Peace 1997) and after graduation and serving war time they were married and began their family. Anita worked for a time outside of the home but she really made her career as a homemaker supporting her very busy civil engineer husband and raising their three children. This was her love and passion. Anita was also known to be a pretty gifted bridge player and bridge club member for many many years. Famous in the eyes of her loving children, she also has quite a family history from the side of her mother. This story can be found in the writings of her aunt Phyllis Gardner, author of "The Hyatt Legacy". Anita was proceeded in death by husband Robert and is survived by her two sons; Richard and Ralph Meffley and daughter; Elaine Bayhai and son in-law Mark, 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held for Anita at her home parish St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, beginning at ten o'clock in the morning with a private interment at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home & Mausoleum. Family and Friends are welcome to visit the niche space of Richard and Anita after Wednesday, April 12, 2017, in the Garden of Peace outdoor cemetery garden of Chapel of the Light.
