Cruz Garza

Cruz Garza, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, in Fresno, California, at the age of 91. She was born on May 4, 1934, in Pompeys Pillar, Montana, and lived a long, fulfilling life surrounded by family and love. Cruz dedicated over 25 years of her professional life as a Section Chief for the Internal Revenue Service, where she was admired for her leadership, integrity, and commitment to excellence. Her colleagues and friends remember her as a woman of strong character, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her work and family. Upon retirement, Cruz found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time and shopping with her daughter-in-law Sophie, enjoying Friday date nights with her granddaughter Stephanie watching Dateline and Sunday fundays with her son Freddie. She could also have been found on Facebook commenting on people's post where she was everyone's cheerleader. Cruz’s life was defined by her devotion to family, her strong work ethic, and her joyful spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Cruz was preceded in death by the love of her life of 67 years, Alfredo Garza Sr.; her children, Richard Garza, Stephen Garza, Timothy Garza, Patricia Garza and Edward Garza, Sr. Cruz will be missed by her sons, Andrew Garza, Sr. and his wife Mary, and Alfred Garza, Jr. Her daughter in laws Sophia Hernandez-Garza and Jennifer Garza; her grandchildren, Stephanie Garza, Richard Garza, Andrea Kimball and her husband Randy, Andrew Garza, Jr., and his wife Monica, Timothy Garza and his wife Nadine, Stephen Garrison and his wife Desiree, and Jordan Garza-Meza; numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Light on Sunday, November 9, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A celebratoin of life will follow at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sanger District Cemetery.
