David D Rivera, 64, of Clovis, CA, passed away on December 25, 2023 after a battle of ALS. David was born on October 27, 1959 to Joel Rivera and Ciria Holguin-Cox in Clovis, CA. David shared his love for his dads ranch where he developed his work ethic as a very hard worker. His work ethic was spilled into his landscaping business that provided for his family but moreover where he developed close friendships with many of his clients and would consider them as family. David would offer anyone that needed some extra money to help in the landscaping business as a way to offer support for those in need. David later started working for Costco. David was proud to work at Costco as he would always talked about it, you would find David running to work in the parking lot with his Starbucks coffee in hand. David would always stop at Starbucks before going into work and buying extra coffee to hand to coworkers. This is who David was he was a caring, loving person, and would give anything that he had on hand to help someone. If you knew David, you would know how much he loved his family. David was married to Cecelia Rivera for 19 years but they were together for 33 years. For 33 years, they blended their family as one unit. David had 3 kids from a prior marriage: David Rivera, Josh Rivera and Nicole Rivera. Cecelia had two kids from previous relationships: Robin Bryant and Steve Munoz. They were the modern version of the Brady Bunch. David wouldn’t want it any other way. He took in Cecelia kids and treated them as their own. When David wasn’t working or busy raising the family, you would find him and Cecelia at the bars. David was a social butterfly where he would always meet old and new friends. David would treat people like he knew them for years. David had an infectious laugh that can be easily recognized without even seeing him. It was one of those laughs that made you laugh when you heard it. David enjoyed music, sharing stories of how he was a great football player and wrestler at Clovis High School, he enjoyed watching the San Francisco 49ers and Giants baseball games. David was preceded by his Dad, Joel Rivera and sister Esther Perez. He is survived by his wife Cecelia Rivera, his mom Ciria, children David Rivera (Marisol), Josh Rivera (Stephanie), Nicole Rivera and step children Robin Bryant, Steve Munoz (Melisa), his brothers Joe, Steve, Lee, Jessie, Andrew, his sisters Norma, Carmen, Rosemary, and grandkids Christian, Elena, Ryan, Mia, Lila, and Zaiah. Please join the family on January 11th for Church Service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 1880 Gettysburg, Clovis CA at 11am and burial at the Clovis Cemetery.
