Francisco Cruz Jr. was born in Fresno, California on July 12, 1974. From his childhood to teenage years, Francisco went by “Frankie” and by his adult years, he evolved and went by “Frank”. Frank had a kind heart who was always willing to help a friend in need at the drop of a hat. He gave words of encouragement to those who were having a rough time. He was optimistic and always had a smile or grin on his face. He was not the type to be angry or react negatively towards anyone. He always spoke about his Mission in Life. He wanted to become the best person he could possibly be by serving the Lord and helping others in need. He took pride in his work and always made sure his patients received the best care possible. He also had a passion to assist the homeless. He would periodically go to the “Bridge” to help serve meals, distribute toiletries, and provide the word of God. He passionately spoke about his adventures at the “Bridge” and explain what the biggest necessities where needed within the community. Frank attended Lone Star College in Conroe, Texas and received his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Human Service in June of 2014. He received his Counselor Certificate of Basic Chemical Dependency from Lone Star College in June of 2014. He continued on to Springfield College of Houston, Texas and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services in the Spring of 2016. As he pursued his education, he worked at The Harris Center from December 2015 to March of 2020. Frank dedicated his time studying, working and in his free time was the ultimate sports fanatic. From NASCAR, Baseball, Hockey, Football and possibly any other sport out there. His home was ESPN 24/7. He was a fan of Fresno State (home of the BULLDOGS), the Houston Astros, and the Houston Texans. He would follow every game, would recite stats and knew each play by play. Ultimately, he had a goal to get his foundation up and running. The FCJ Foundation, established in 2018 provided a mobile trailer for the less fortunate where they had a proper place to take showers and do their grooming routine with dignity and respect. He would always say they were “Showers from Heaven”. Frank was one of a kind who had so much enthusiasm for life. Those who knew him truly loved and respected him and will miss him dearly. Frank is survived by his lovely parents: Francisco Sr. and Guadalupe Cruz. Three Sisters: Maribel, Laura, and Alejandra. Five nieces: Amanda, Celyne, Mikayla, Sophia, and Emily. In addition to his many uncles, aunts and cousins in Texas and California. On January 23, 2021, Frank left this world in peace, and is now home with his Lord and Savior. There was no fear on his part because he knew his six grandparents from the Cruz Family, Aguilar-Araiza Family and Montoya Family where waiting for him with open arms. A Funeral Service will be held at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be at Washington Colony Cemetery.
