Henry Gonzalez Delgado, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Clovis, California, on August 31, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on January 5, 1931, in Sanger, California, Henry lived a full and meaningful life, marked by hard work, faith, and love for his family. Henry proudly served in the United States Army. Upon completion of his service, he worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years. Known for his dedication and strong work ethic, he built a career that reflected his reliability and commitment to serving his community. Beyond his professional life, Henry had a deep passion for creativity and craftsmanship. He was especially gifted in restoring Catholic saint statues, dedicating countless hours to repairing and preserving them for churches and religious bookstores throughout Fresno. His handiwork was not only a reflection of his artistic talent but also of his devotion to his Catholic faith. Henry was a lifelong fan of the Raiders, always cheering them on with passion. He also enjoyed yardwork, often creating unique lawn characters that showcased his artistic flair. Photography and drawing were among his favorite pastimes, further highlighting his creative spirit. Above all, Henry’s greatest joy was his family, and he will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the love he shared with all who knew him. Henry met the love of his life, Angie Delgado, and together they shared 62 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and unwavering partnership. They raised three children who carry forward his legacy Ronald Delgado of Roseville, California, Liz Perales of Fresno, California and Ruben Delgado of Clovis, California Henry was also blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy. His grandchildren are Michael Ortega and Christina Ortega and his great grandchildren are Brandon Valadez, Michael Ortega Jr., Fernando Gonzalez, Jacob Gonzalez, and Klarissa Gonzalez. He is also survived by his siblings John Delgado, Mary Delgado, and Robert Delgado. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Cresencia Delgado, his brothers Louie Delgado, Donald Delgado, sisters Frances Godinez and Annie Rico, and his son-in-law Joe Perales. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Shrine of Saint Therese Catholic Church in Fresno. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment with military honors will take place at Clovis District Cemetery. Henry’s life was a beautiful example of faith, family, and service. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those who loved him.
