Lourdes Orpilla Quitoriano was born to Isidoro and Juana Orpilla on January 6, 1944 in Candon, Ilocos Sur, Philippines and passed away in Fresno, California on March 9, 2022 at the age of 78. Back in Ilocos Sur, Lourdes grew up with 3 siblings: Arsenia, Natividad, and George. She attended high school at the St. Joseph Institute of Candon, and after graduating, went on to attend the Far Eastern University of the Philippines where she studied Education. During her second year in 1970, she migrated to the United States to join her father and brother where she resided in Fresno, California. In this city, she worked in various grape farms for over 30 years, and even worked for a local sprinkler company. She later met her husband Frank Macafe Quitoriano. Together, they raised 3 children: Mary Jane, Frank Jr., and Alan James. Lourdes was a selfless, loving individual. Among some of her hobbies included cooking delicious Filipino food, going for long walks, and attending church every Sunday. Her grandchildren will greatly remember her for her mix and match style. While she did like to mix and match, she was a traditionalist who stayed true to her Filipino roots while still embracing the U.S culture. The positive light she brought to this world will be remembered by all, most notably, her infectious smile. Mrs. Quitoriano is preceded in death by her parents, Isidoro and Juana Orpilla; and her sister, Natividad Roldan. Lourdes will be greatly missed and is survived by her husband, Frank Quitoriano; daughter, Mary Jane Asarias; and two sons, Frank Jr. and Alan Quitoriano. She is also survived by her sister, Arsenia Macabeo; brother, George Orpilla; Son-in-Law, Samuel Asarias; and five grandchildren, Samantha Michellea, Justin Christian, Paul Matthew, Kaitlin Saraya, and Kaylee Faith. Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will be held at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 7:00 p.m A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in the Garden of Devotion at Chapel of the Light Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Community Regional Medical Center for taking care of Lourdes, as well as any extended family and friends who have been there for them throughout this difficult time. A big thank you as well to anyone who has had a positive impact on Lourdes’ life.
