Mark De Castro, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at the age of 74. Born to Luis De Castro and Aurora (Aala) De Castro on December 8, 1950, in Butuan, Agusan Del Norte, Philippines. Mark is the eldest of eleven children, predeceased by Charles, Dominador, and survived by Edgar, Annie, Nila, Lilia, Rodrigo, Gloria, Bert, and Towo. Mark lived a life marked by faith, service, and devotion to his family and community. Mark graduated from Adamson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. He has Board Certifications as a Professional Engineer in Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. He dedicated over 45 years to his profession, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers alike for his work ethic, integrity, and expertise. During life's journey, Mark came across a young lady by the name of Grace Diosomito. It was on March 16, 1977 where they took the holy vows of matrimony in Pope Pius XII Chapel. Since then, they have been inseparable. Mark was a proud member of the Filipino American Association of Fresno. He was one of the incorporators of the Filipino Catholic League (Incorporated April 21, 1998) and was also its past president. However, serving the Lord as a perpetually professed, consecrated member of the Holy Family Institute, one of the 10 branches of the Pauline Family, was Mark’s utmost blessing. He and Grace visited and prayed with nuns of the Sister Disciples of the Divine Master frequently. Mark was also a devoted parishioner of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He served faithfully as a Eucharistic minister and contributed in many other capacities, always guided by his deep Catholic faith and desire to help others. Mark is survived by his loving wife, Grace De Castro; his children, Michelle Bethune and her husband David of Dublin, CA, David De Castro of Nipomo, and Deanna De Castro and her partner Kala Wong of San Jose, CA. Mark will also be missed by his cherished grandchildren Micala, Sabrina, Sydney, Alexis, Lauren, Zachary and Augustine and a great granchild, Calder. He was a steadfast supporter, mentor, and friend to many, always ready with a kind word or helping hand. Mark’s legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Sisters of Disciple of the Divine Master Chapel. A Vigil Service will follow in the chapel at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
