PABLO SALVADOR GOMEZ October 5, 1955 - July 10, 2024 Pablo Salvador Gomez, died unexpectedly on July 10, 2024, at his residence. He was only 68 years old. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death. Pablo was born on October 5, 1955, in San Salvador, El Salvador. Pablo is survived and missed by his loving wife, Maria Elizabeth Gomez of 51 years; and his children, Nelson and Louise, Rhina and Jason (Duysings), and Paul and Audra. Forever cherished and remembered by his six grandchildren, Sasha, Brianna, Hunter, Parker, Emma, and Abby. His memory will be cherished by his sister-in-law’s and family; Lily & Agustin (Melara), Edith & Oscar (Sanchez), Ana, Laura (Laird) Herbert and Benjamin. His memory will also live on with his nieces, nephews and cousins; Adelson, Ricky, Monique, Cienna, Ethan and Pierce. Pablo was predeceased by his mother, Julia and his in-laws Rhina and Humberto. Pablo grew up in the Colonia Libertad, San Salvador, where he met and married the love of his life, Maria. In February of 1976, Pablo made the decision to immigrate to the United States with his family, eventually ending up in Ontario, California. From there, he eventually moved his family to Fresno, California and finally, Clovis, California, where he spent the rest of his life. Some of his greatest joy came from his family and the many memories they created, whether at home or visiting the beaches in Newport, Pismo, Morro Bay and Monterey, as well as the forest of Yosemite and the Kings Canyon National Parks. He took an active role in the lives of his grandchildren, which he loved deeply and unconditionally. He shared with them his advice on life, as well as his desires for them to succeed in whatever they were doing. These last few years, his greatest love was to spend time with Maria, in the backyard and garden of their first and only, forever home. Pablo had many professions throughout his life. He worked as a farm worker in the fields of Southern California and then as a house cleaner and an automotive production worker, until he finally found his place at Lakos Laval, as a water filtration production worker, a warehouse worker and finally a warehouse manager, where he made many friends. Pablo had an unstoppable will and spirit. He never gave up, not even when he had a massive stroke, which doctors said he would not survive. He fought his way back to his family and friends. He enjoyed every moment he had with his family and friends and even though he had slowed down, he still fought daily to do the things he wanted. One of his most cherished and treasured accomplishments was becoming a United States Citizen, which he did, along with Maria on August 20, 2019. He continued live his life, as best as he could and with Maria’s help, he found joy in making the backyard of their home a small oasis of love, where they planted flowers and a small garden of vegetables. Pablo was never scared or hesitant to take on tasks and did everything with honesty and integrity. He had a strong work ethic and was well liked by everyone, mostly due to his friendly and hardworking attitude. Pablo had an incredible and caring spirit and would always make time to help others. His legacy will carry on forever, reminding us that hard work pays off and so does a caring heart. There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to our neighbors, who were there for us on the night of his passing. His heart of this world may have failed but his spirit was stubbornly strong: When peace, like a river attendeth my way. When sorrow like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, It is well, it is well, with my soul. Memorial services will be held at Chapel of the Light on Friday, August 9th from 11:00am -12:00pm, 1620 W. Belmont Ave., Fresno CA 93728. Immediately following the memorial service, a Celebration of Life reception will be held at the Clovis Veteran Center from 12:00pm - 4:00pm, 808 4th St., Clovis CA 93612. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 am Friday, August 9, 2024 at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home with a reception to follow at the Clovis Veteran's Memorial Building Freedom Hall at 808 4th St. Clovis, Ca 93612
