Pat Garcia

Perpetua "Pat" Garcia was born on August 5, 1932 in Alaminos, Pangasinan, Philippines and passed away in the early morning hours on March 6, 2018 in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines at the age of 85. Pat worked for many years at St. Agnes Hospital prior to her retirement. Though retired from her employment, Pat never gave up her zest to serve the community. She was extremely active in many organizations with Fresno and surrounding areas. A devout Catholic with a profound love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Pat exemplified the true meaning of a philanthropist by giving back to her community whether it was financially or through her many talents. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church where she lived many many years around the corner from Kearney Boulevard. She opened her home to several people so that they can enjoy true the Filipino bayanihan spirit in prayer, food and fellowship. Pat was a member of the Filipino community and in many groups such as the Santo Nino Prayer Group, the Filipino American Association of Fresno and Vicinity, the Filipino Women's Club of Fresno, the Pangasinan Association of Fresno, a Lioness with the Diwata Lions Club, the founder of the Alay Lingap for Filipino seniors, a past Auditor with the Legionarios del Trabajo in America Wor. Anchor Lodge No. 626 where she was royalty as a Past Pageant Queen, and a member to many other organizations not mentioned. Pat's heart was always in the right place. Whether it was raising funds to provide food or rice for seniors or simply contributing and attending the many civic organizations parties to help raise funds needed for scholarships or building funds. Her zest for life will undoubtedly be missed by all who knew her. She is now resting with her husband, Larry Garcia. Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. t0 4:00 p.m. A Lodge Necrological Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel. A Vigil Service will follow will at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Fresno, CA.
