Ray Antonio Velásquez Curbelo, 58 years old, was born on December 9, 1966, in Brus-Laguna, Department of Gracias a Dios, Honduras. He passed away on November 23 at the Clovis Community Center Hospital in the United States. His parents, both Honduran, were Onix Curbelo Goff and Pedro Ponce Velásquez. He was married to Miriam Williams de Velásquez and had two children, Roy Velásquez and Reva Lynn Velásquez, as well as four grandchildren. He had five brothers, and his uncles had already passed away. He had many friends, but his closest friends were his classmates—a group that always stayed in touch and remained very united. His favorite pets were his dogs, Lacy and Charo. Charo passed away, and he missed him very much. My husband grew up in his hometown in a very humble home. Along with his siblings, his parents taught him strong moral and spiritual values. He completed his primary and secondary education and studied at a school called INFOP, where he graduated as an auto mechanic. In 1990, he left his country for the United States, seeking new goals. There, he continued improving his skills and perfecting his career by specializing in truck mechanics. This gave him the opportunity to work in many workshops, where he saved enough to achieve his dream of opening his own business— a company called Milagrosa Trucking. He worked alongside his wife for 30 years, traveling through the 48 states. His brokers always praised him because he was very responsible, punctual, and careful with his loads. He valued his commercial license greatly. Through hard work, he was able to own his home and meet all the basic needs to live. He was a very spiritual man, full of faith. He placed everything in the hands of Jesus. In honor of the Virgin Mary, he gave the company its name. He was a very reserved man. When he was at home, he enjoyed sharing barbecues with his friends and family. He valued family unity and helping others—he also helped the church of his hometown, Perpetuo Socorro, which was his plan to continue supporting. He was cheerful and respectful. As a husband, he was very loving and attentive in every way. He was a good son to his parents and a good father to his children. He corrected them and always wanted the best for them. His hobbies included cleaning his yard and house, planting and taking care of his fruit trees, organizing his tools, and watching the news. In 2022, he began feeling ill to the point that he had to stop working. From that time, he started visiting doctors. He fought hard for his life and never lost hope. His faith showed on his face, and he bore his pain and suffering with great strength. The hand of the Lord was with him in the hospital through the care of doctors and nurses. As a wife, I never abandoned him; I stayed with him until his last breath. On November 23, 2025, God called him to his eternal rest. December 13, he is being given his final farewell at the church he belonged to, Santa Teresita. Receiving his due service by the priest, accompanied by his beloved family, wife, and friends. Afterward, he will be cremated at the crematory "Chapel of the Light" in Fresno, CA. Then, he will be given his sacred burial in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, just as he wished. He was a great warrior. Falleció el 23 de noviembre en el Hospital del Centro Comunitario de Clovis, en los Estados Unidos. Sus padres, ambos hondureños, fueron Onix Curbelo Goff y Pedro Ponce Velásquez. Estuvo casado con Miriam Williams de Velásquez y fue padre de dos hijos, Roy Velásquez y Reva Lynn Velásquez, además de orgulloso abuelo de cuatro nietos. Tuvo cinco hermanos, y sus tíos ya habían partido. Contó con muchos amigos, pero sus amistades más cercanas fueron sus compañeros de estudio, un grupo que siempre se mantuvo unido y en constante comunicación. Sus mascotas preferidas eran sus perros Lacy y Charo. La partida de Charo lo marcó profundamente. Completó sus estudios primarios y secundarios, y posteriormente se formó en el INFOP, donde se graduó como mecánico automotriz. En 1990 emigró a los Estados Unidos en busca de nuevas oportunidades. Allí continuó desarrollándose profesionalmente y se especializó en mecánica de camiones. Su dedicación le permitió trabajar en diversos talleres, ahorrar y finalmente cumplir su sueño de fundar su propio negocio: Milagrosa Trucking. Durante 30 años trabajó junto a su esposa, recorriendo los 48 estados del país. Sus corredores siempre lo elogiaron por su responsabilidad, puntualidad y cuidado con cada carga. Valoraba enormemente su licencia comercial. Con esfuerzo y constancia, logró adquirir su hogar y satisfacer dignamente todas las necesidades de su familia. Ray fue un hombre profundamente espiritual, lleno de fe. Confiaba cada aspecto de su vida a Jesús. En honor a la Virgen María, dio a su empresa el nombre que llevó. De carácter reservado, disfrutaba en casa de reuniones familiares y barbacoas con amigos. Valoraba la unidad familiar y el servicio a los demás. Apoyaba también a la iglesia de su pueblo, Perpetuo Socorro, compromiso que deseaba continuar. Alegre y respetuoso, fue un esposo amoroso y atento, un hijo ejemplar y un padre dedicado que siempre buscó lo mejor para sus hijos. Entre sus pasatiempos se encontraban cuidar su patio y su hogar, sembrar y atender sus árboles frutales, organizar sus herramientas y mantenerse informado viendo las noticias. En 2022 comenzó a presentar problemas de salud que lo obligaron a dejar de trabajar. Desde entonces inició un proceso constante de consultas médicas. Luchó con valentía por su vida y nunca perdió la esperanza. Su fe se reflejaba en su rostro y enfrentó el dolor y el sufrimiento con admirable fortaleza. La mano del Señor lo acompañó en el hospital a través del esmerado cuidado de médicos y enfermeras. Como esposa, jamás me aparté de él; permanecí a su lado hasta su último aliento. El 23 de noviembre de 2025, Dios lo llamó a su descanso eterno. 13 de diciembre, recibe su despedida final en la iglesia a la que pertenecía, Santa Teresita, en una ceremonia presidida por el sacerdote y acompañada por su amada familia, su esposa y sus amigos. Posteriormente, será cremado en crematorio Capila de la luz en Fresno, California. Luego, sus restos serán trasladados a Tegucigalpa, Honduras, para darle sepultura sagrada, tal como fue su deseo.
