Enrique Aguirre Jr., a devoted father, son, brother and correctional officer, passed away suddenly on September 14, 2025, at the age of 45. Born on October 11, 1979, in Fresno, California, Rick lived a life defined by dedication to his family, his career, and his passions. Rick was a proud graduate of Clovis High School and later earned his degree in criminology from Fresno City College. Following his studies, he began his career in corrections, serving nearly 20 years as a correctional officer at Avenal State Prison. His commitment to his work reflected his strong sense of responsibility and service to others. Rick had a zest for life that was evident to all who knew him. A devoted fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Las Vegas Raiders, he rarely missed a chance to cheer on his teams. Some of his happiest moments were spent attending baseball games with his beloved son, Nathaniel. He also enjoyed the thrill of casinos, where his luck seemed to follow him at both the card tables and the slot machines. Known for his impeccable sense of style, Rick always made sure his outfits were coordinated down to the last detail—his hats always perfectly matched his attire. Rick’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his children, Nathaniel Aguirre and Victoria Aguirre; his father, Enrique Aguirre; and his siblings, Leticia Saenz and her husband Pablo, Ruben Aguirre, and Sal Aguirre. He also leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews, Matthew, Alyssa, Jacob, Amelia, and Athena. He was preceded in death by his mother, Teresa Borjas Aguirre, whose memory he carried with him always. Rick will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his career, and his vibrant spirit that touched everyone around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home, with the Rosary recited at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 3, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Clovis. Ricky will be laid to rest at Clovis District Cemetery.
