Valente Moina Lopez "La Sabana" went to be with our Lord and Savior at the age of 73. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. He gained his angels wings Monday July 15, 2019. Our father was born May 31, 1946 in Michoacan Mexico. He was born on a small farm to Fermin & Florita M. Lopez. At the age of 16 he left school and moved to Mexico City where he was offered a position working in construction. At a very young age he also became very fond of music and musical instruments and knew right then it would become part of his life. A few years later he and a group of friends decided to put a band together called themselves Los Quiniquis. It was 1979 at the of 33 he decided to leave Mexico and proceeded to migrate to the Untied States where he would call Pinedale, CA his home for the next 8 years. He found a job at Lamanuzzi Patantaleo in 1982 where he maintained a job as a Foreman/Warehouse for over 40 years. Our father was blessed with so many talented attributes, but non filled his heart with so much joy then his love for his music. He had Incredible talent and unimaginable patience to teach family and friends about the art of music. He would literally sit for hours and practice with his guitar. He loved every type of music from rock to salsa, blues to jazz, merengue to banda. He loved to play his bass guitar to music from his favorite artist like Santana, Jimmy Hendrix, Mana, and Sonora Sanctanera and many others. He found happiness in spending time with his children, grandchildren, friends and loved ones. Nothing more would light up his smile than to talk about his children and how proud he was of them. His favorite thing to do was to reminisce about his childhood stories, like boxing career, or being on a soccer team when he was young, his first music gig and even winning rock n roll dance contest with his sister. Pops had the most amazing, and funniest personalty. He loved to make people laugh. We will always remember him as a kind, compassionate, loving, funny and selfless. Our father lived his life to the fullest and with no regrets, but most importantly his love for his family. He is survived by his children Leticia I. Lopez, Mario A. Lopez, Zulema A. Lopez, Valente Lopez Jr, and Fermin Lopez, Sister Josefina Peinado, Brother Froylan Lopez, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Valente is proceeded in death both by his parents Fermin & Florita, sisters Margarita and Loreto, and brother Mario. We will forever be grateful for your life. Thank you for the privilege and honor of being our father.
