With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Wilburn Dean Jones Jr. on December 28, 2025, at the age of 51 in Fresno, California. He leaves behind a family who loved and adored him and a community that will long remember his warmth, humor, and unmistakable voice. Will,was born on December 3rd, 1974, in Monterey, California, to Margaret Ann Reed of Dallas, Texas, and Wilburn Dean Jones Sr. of Texarkana, Arkansas. A proud athlete and a Hoover High School Patriot in Fresno, Will made Fresno his home for nearly four decades. He liked to say he knew Fresno “like the back of my hand,” and he truly did—able to navigate the city before GPS and always ready with a recommendation for where to go or what to try. Will loved music, sports, history, gaming, and streaming. His passion for the Dallas Cowboys and football found a wide audience on YouTube, where he built a following by sharing his enthusiasm and candid takes under the name of @SimusSays..... He often live streamed with co-collaborators and friends, sharing his love and critics for the game with articulate and colorful authenticity. He was a devoted foodie and an avid bruncher who delighted in discovering new flavors and sharing meals with friends and family; as long as it wasn’t swine. Will spoke his mind with honesty and good humor; he never shied from an opinion and could light up a room with a story or a laugh. Will is survived by his beloved wife, Alelyn Anne Jones; his daughters Dazhane Henry and Kendra Jones and his son, Tajai Jones; his grandchildren Na’khai, King, and Ace; his father, Wilburn Dean Jones Sr.; his sisters Africa Jones Williams, Grace Patrice Jones and brother, James Elliot Jones; and many nieces and nephews. He is reunited in heaven with his mother, Margaret Jones and Uncle, James Reed. He will be remembered for the love he showed his family and the pride he took in their lives. A memorial service to celebrate Will’s life will be held at Chapel of the Light, 1620 W. Belmont Ave, Fresno, CA 93728, on Friday, January 9th, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Will’s kindness are welcome to attend and share memories. Will’s curiosity, generosity, and unmistakable presence left an imprint on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the joy he brought to ordinary days and the fierce love he carried for his family and community. Those who wish to honor his memory are encouraged to gather, share a meal, and tell a story—just as Will would have wanted.
