William Cardon Borunda, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on March 12, 2026, in Clovis, California. He was born on March 6, 1939, in Indio, California, to Librado Borunda Sr. and Sarah (Cardon) Borunda. William was a man of deep faith, strong character, and unwavering devotion to both his family and his country. He proudly served in the United States Army, stationed in Alaska during the Cold War, demonstrating courage, discipline, and resilience. In recognition of his honorable service, military honors will be rendered. Following his military service, William dedicated his life to hard work as a skilled machinist in the aerospace and aviation industries, machining Tomahawk’s missiles during the Gulf War and other defense sectors before retiring from United Airlines. His exceptional work ethic, precision, and commitment to excellence reflected the pride he took in providing for his family. At the heart of William’s life was his beloved wife, Rosalie Martinez Borunda, together, they shared 68 years, 2 months, and 12 days of enduring love, faith, and unwavering marriage. They built a life rooted in devotion, family, and cherished memories, including fulfilling their dream of building a home in the country. He was a proud and loving father to Roxane Borunda Marquez, her spouse Robert Marquez, Renee Borunda Billszar, her spouse Marvin Billszar, William Borunda II, and Rosalyn Borunda. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Nathan, Brittney, Joshua, Danielle, Caleb, William III, Ethan, Viktor, and great-grandson, Zion; and last but not least, a future great-grandson in September 2026. Beyond his professional accomplishments, William had an inventive spirit and a love for working with his hands. He enjoyed spending time in his garage inventing and creating, and proudly developed two patents filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and published a poem entitled “Awesome” by Eber & Wein Publishing. William is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandson, along with his siblings Ruth Rodriguez, David Borunda Sr., Lydia Borunda, and Sally Borunda, as well as other nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Moses, Max, Leo II, Margaret, Solomon Sr., Richard Sr and Benjamin Sr. In light of all the above, William’s greatest pride and joy was his family. His life was a reflection of steadfast faith, humility, and enduring love. He will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and the quiet dignity with which he lived his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His family finds comfort in the assurance of his faith "in Jesus Christ, our Lord” and the Lord’s promise that we will be reunited again. Johnson Chapel of People's Church on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow at Belmont Memorial Park.
