“Candelario Curiel, 92, of Fresno, California, passed away on July 1st2020. He was born to parents Salvador & Virginia Curiel, on February 2nd, 1928 in Atenguillo Jalisco, Mexico. Candelario, a musician since childhood & a mariachi into his twilight years also played baseball as a pitcher in Mexico & the in the USA. He was a jack of all trades as he was also a boxer, worked in irrigation, agriculture and made fish nets for fisherman and had a passion for music He traveled extensively with his band Perla de Jalisco. After retiring his band, he continued to perform until the age of 91. He also made guitar strings for himself and other musicians. Candelario is survived by his brother, Roberto Diaz and his children Virginia, Angela,Candelario, Cristina & Diana, eight grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren. The family has entrusted Chapel of the Light with the funeral arrangements. A visitation & service is scheduled for Monday, July 13thwith the viewing at 5:00 p.m. and the service at 6:00 p.m. at 1620 W Belmont Avenue, Fresno CA 93728. Entombment will be Tuesday, July 14th, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, in San Jose CA.”
