Daryle Lamonica

July 17, 1941 - April 21, 2022

Daryle P. Lamonica died unexpectedly on April 21, 2022 at his home in Fresno, CA of natural causes. Daryle was born in Clovis, CA on July 17, 1941 to Samuel Lamonica and Vera (Duffy) Lamonica. He graduated from Clovis High School in 1959 and graduated from Notre Dame University in 1963 with a degree in business. Daryle married the love of his life, Mary, on May 1, 1970 and had been by her side for 51 years. They lived together in the Bay Area before finally settled back home in Fresno, CA to raise their family. Daryle was the former Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raider quarterback over his 12 year NFL career, along with his professional careers in trucking, insurance and warehousing/distribution. Daryle was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved being PAPA the best, spending time with his grandchild was his favorite this to do. Papa juice and snacks will be something his grandchildren will always remember. He loved attending his grandchildren’s events from school performances, to soccer games or dance recitals. Where he was always there trying to get that perfect picture. He was the ultimate outdoorsman, who was passionate about his time fishing, hunting and just being outside with Mother Nature. His passion for the outdoors took him all over the world from Alaska to Africa and everywhere in between. He passed this passion on to both his sons and we are forever grateful. You will be missed and forever in our hearts! Daryle is survived by his wife Mary Lamonica; his sister Judy (Lamonica) Nash; his sons and their wives, Brian and Brenda Lamonica / Brandon and Sandra Lamonica; his grandchildren Josh, Jeremy, Dakota, Ella, Gavin and Logan; his great grandchild Beau. Services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Peoples Church located at 7172 N. Cedar Avenue, Fresno, CA 93720.
