Our dear mother, Enedina Mariscal Zamorano passed away on November 8, 2023, at the age of 82. She was born on February 21, 1941, in San Marcos, Jalisco, Mexico. She was proceeded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Santos (Eleno) Zamorano, her mother, Catalina Navarro, and her father, Victor Mariscal. She is survived by her nine children: Alberto, Francisco Javier, Maricela Patricia, Bacilia, Juan Tirzo, Catalina, Juan Carlos, Santos, Elias Zamorano, and their respective spouses. Her twenty-four grandchildren, forty-four great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Enedina is also survived by her brother, Luis Mariscal. Mother was our rock, she was strong, reliable, and hard, but would reflect small crystals of light when held closely. She had to be strong to forge ahead for her nine children as we made our way to America from Mexico. Her determination to protect our family nucleus meant that she would not crumble in hard times or let anyone break her family down. Mother brought us to America to join our father after a few years of him being away to work and her determination for us to all be together was greater than the struggles she knew we would face. She traveled with her children across Mexico to America, not knowing the language, the people or where we would call home. On our travels, she set up small eateries and sold her delicious food. She was so resourceful, and we admired how she would not give up; she would make ends meet with so little for so many of us and others that were struggling like us. Mother knew so many trades, she was a great cook, a seamstress, a natural healer, and was a hardworking-financial savvy lady. She forged ahead until her dream of owning our own home was accomplished. Our mother taught us responsibility at a young age, respect, hard work, and determination. She wanted us to dream big and accomplish the impossible. Mother often said, “No dejes para mañana lo que puedes acer hoy” or “Don’t leave things for tomorrow when you can accomplish them today,” her way of expressing for us to keep on going. She will be missed dearly by those she touched. If you would like to pay your respects, you are welcome to attend the Funeral Services will be held in her honor at Our Lady of Victory, on Monday, November 20, 2023. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 9:00am to 10:00am with a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Fresno, California
