October 15, 1955 - November 25, 2020
Flora Rasgo Escobido, who is best known as “Mama Flora”, was called back to heaven on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at age 65. She was diagnosed in early November with Pancreatic Cancer. After learning of her diagnosis she said, “If any good chance of hope, then I will fight to survive.” She fought a good battle and held on until her last breath at home, surrounded by her loved ones. We are thankful to have spent her last day on earth expressing our love and gratitude for all that she has done for our entire family. We are comforted to know that she is with our Lord and Savior, no longer in pain or suffering. Flora was born in 1955 to Maracio and Elisa Rasgo of Aklan, Philippines, who have proceeded and are now reunited. She graduated from St. Gabriel College earning her Graduate in Nursing Degree in 1978. She arrived in the States in 1985, where she continued her nursing career and met her adoring husband, Ceresio. To this union was born their two children, JoanMarie and George. Flora was a hardworking, selfless mother whose goal was to provide an abundant life for her children. She was not only a mother to her own, but to all, hence the name “Mama Flora”. Flora was a strong, beautiful, loving soul with a one of a kind personality. She was also generous, kind, and so very thoughtful and considerate of everyone around her. Full of life, spontaneity, and adventure, she accepted every invitation to go on a trip. Her hobbies of gardening, singing, and dancing are what she is best known for. The love she had for her plants is also how she was given the nickname “Flower.” She was the life of the party, never skipping a beat and never shy when it came to grabbing the microphone to sing her heart out. If she wasn’t singing, then she was dancing. As soon as the music started, she would run to the dance floor, and that’s where you could find her until the lights turned off. She will forever be crowned “The Dancing Queen” among her friends and family. We will miss Flora dearly and we will never forget her as she has given us so many memories. We are blessed to have been given the opportunity to be in the presence of an angel on earth during her time with us. Flora has touched so many lives and the outpour of love received shows how special she was to many she’s encountered all over the world. When we meet again we cannot wait to hear you say, “Excuse me, did you see me?” She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her husband, Ceresio; her daughter JoanMarie, son George, son-in-law Son Vo; Siblings: Eufrosino Rasgo, Leonida Motos, Moises Rasgo, Leoncia Tenedor, Fe Isales, Elma Vega, and Felix Rasgo. “In life, we loved you dearly. In death, we love you still. In our hearts, you hold a place no one else will ever fill.” The Escobido & Rasgo family thank you kindly for all your love, support and sympathy.
