April 23, 1950 - April 10, 2021
George V. Hernandez is preceded in death by his parents Isabel and Tomas Hernandez. The youngest of 12 children, he passed away April 10th 2021 at age 70 in his home surrounded by family. Born April 23rd 1950 in El Paso, Texas and resident of Fresno since 1959, leaves behind the love of his life, Yolanda Hernandez, who were 2 months shy of 48 years of marriage. He also leaves behind their 3 children, son Cristoba Hernandez, daughter Lenora Castanon, son-in-law Andrew, daughter Irene Meza, son-in-law J, along with 10 grandchildren, Raymond, Ryan, Isabel, Victoria, Alyssa, Steven, Benjamin, Dominic, Cristine, Adrian, great grandson Ryan Jr., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, sisters, and family. He lived a truly blessed life, constantly surrounded by family and love. He was never alone and always had a story to tell. As a devout Catholic, he taught his family that life continues on in the Afterlife. “This is just a shell”, he would say, pointing to himself. Though it may be a shell and his soul in our presence, he will still be forever missed by his wife and family. He taught his family that worldly possessions are meaningless for they cannot be taken to the other side, to Heaven. Our father was a humble man who looked forward to simple riches in life; a baseball game on television, a dance with his wife to their wedding song as it played on the radio, sitting with a hot cup of coffee in the morning as he prayed the rosary, and always ready to tell you in detail the stories of his life in hopes that they taught you a valuable lesson. He worked hard his entire life, but worked hardest for his family, and for that we deeply thank him. Dad, we miss you and we cannot wait until the day we hold you again.
