Jose "Chato" Alvarado
August 12, 1947 - February 5, 2022
Joe “Chato” Alvarado 74, born in Sonora, Mexico but lived most of his life in Fresno California. Son of Rita Alvarado and Jesus Chavarria passed away Saturday, Feb 5th,2022. He was a graduate of Edison High school in 1966. Coming from humble beginnings he worked hard for his family giving them the best life he could. He was a man of several accomplishments and talents, he won several body building competitions, a certified Welder, Supervisor of Vendo and Mors Furniture, Owner and contractor of JEA Landscaping and built his dream home. This man could fix and build almost anything! Joe loved riding motorcycles, restoring classic cars, camping with his family, traveling, enjoyed boxing and swimming , yelled like Tarzan, told great stories, listened to oldies and loved to have a good time. Joe is survived by his high school sweet heart Cecilia “Sheila” Alvarado and children Joe “Chatito”, James “Eddie”, Crystal and Joaquin Alvarado; Grandchildren Sabrina, Celeste, Jalend “grasshopper”, Selena, Stephanie, Jake, Jayden, James “Zeke”, Cecilia “Ellee”, Roman and Elena; Great-Grandchildren Mariah, Joseph Eli, Catalina, and soon to be born, Amberlina and Milja; his sister Yolanda, late brothers Jesse, Ray, Carmen, Manuel and Marylou, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends. He lived a great life, loved his family, smart and handsome, sometimes lived on the edge, made unforgettable memories and will be missed dearly. Visitation will be held on Feb 11th from 5-8pm at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home, Funeral Services will be held at the same location on Feb 12th at 10am and laid to rest at Fresno Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will be having a outdoor Celebration of Life gathering at 4168 W Alhambra Fresno Ca. 93722 Please follow Covid safety measures to keep family and friends well.
