Petra Y. Cabrera Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Petra Ybarra Cabrera was born in San Juan, El Paso County, Texas on June 5, 1924 to Ricardo & Simona Ybarra. She passed away at the age of 97 on January 6, 2022, in Fresno, California. At the age of 25 she married the love of her life David Cabrera Sr, who was a WWII retired purple heart recipient. Petra was preceded in death by her parents Ricardo & Simona, her loving husband David Cabrera Sr. of 42years, her siblings, Rose, Trini, Alice, Mark & Manuel. Petra is survived by her children Maria Rodriguez, David Cabrera Jr, John Cabrera, Carlos Cabrera, Cecilia Palmerin, Terecita Mendizabal & Tom Cabrera. Petra is the grandmother to 21 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren and more on the way. She was a devout Catholic in her faith in God and the Blessed Virgin Mary. She enjoyed going to church, spending time with her family, eating sweets, drinking her Pepsis and being a Go-Go Girl, wanting to go places. The Funeral Vigil & Rosary services are scheduled for January 19th, 2022 from 5 pm to 7:45 pm at the Chapel of the Light funeral home. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for January 20th, 2022 beginning at 9:30 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the graveside services to begin at 11:30 am, at St. Peters Catholic Cemetery.
