Rudy Batoon
July 5, 1941 - July 18, 2020
Rodolfo “Rudy” Reyes Batoon, born July 5th 1941, passed July 18th 2020 at the age of 79. Rudy lived a full and eventful life. He was born in Ilocos Norte Batac (Philippines), where he spent his childhood and early adulthood. He was the eldest and only boy with seven sisters Vangie, Tina, Gina, Randy, Amelia, Patty and Dolly. In 1975, Rudy arrived in the United States for the first time and years after he went back to the Philippines and met Virginia and got married months after. Rudy and Virgina had five children Lorelei, Monalyn, Myrna, Alexander and Joseph. In 1992 Rudy and his family moved from San Francisco to Fresno where they raised their very large family on a farm. In 2005, Rudy was widowed when Virgina unexpectedly passed. Rudy married Maria Magdalena on March 20th 2017, whom he shared his life with until the time of his passing. What could be said about Rudy that anyone who knew him didn’t already know? He was an avid prankster. Rudy loved to playfully tease whenever the opportunity presented itself; which thankfully did, alot! Rudy loved raising chickens, goats, and ducks. He also cherished the times he was able to share the dirty part of butchering these animals with all of his children, even though they were far less thrilled with the experience. When Rudy wasn’t teasing friends and family or tormenting his kids with the art of butchery he could often be found watching historical documentaries, movies of war, and old fashioned westerns. However, it doesn't come close to how crazy he was about his grandchildren. He had never exhibited more pride and joy then when he held his first grandchild, Xander Kai. Rudy was lucky enough to experience that joy two more times in a matter of months as Jaylen and Hayden burst onto the scene and stole their grandfather's heart. Simply put, Rudy’s life was his family. He has left a remarkable legacy which will endure for generations to come. Rudy taught us much over our time with him. How to provide. How to live. How to love. How to persevere. The last few months of Rudy’s life were a testament to courage and strength. Rudy set an example for all of us to revere and admire. He left us with a lasting impression that will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace Rodolfo. See you in Heaven NOTE: Due to CoVid restrictions, please contact the family for attendance requirements.
