Francesco Dominic “Frank” Sidoti, a resident of Fresno, California was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 29, 1931. He went to be in Heaven with our Lord on June 30, 2016 at the Veteran's Hospital in Fresno at the age of 85. Frank's mother, Concetta Galante and father, Francesco Sidoti married and immigrated to the United States from Messina, Sicily. Frank was one of ten children. Concetta and Francesco raised their family in Cleveland, Ohio. Later they moved to Hawthorne, California in the area of Los Angeles. Frank served two years as a Military Policeman in the United States Army Reserve. He achieved the rank of corporal and was honorably discharged on January 29, 1954. Frank married Gloria Darlene Elrod in 1954. They had three sons; Franco W. Sidoti, Stephen Albert Sidoti and James Michael Sidoti. Frank was a very hard working man throughout his life. The last job he held was for GW School Supply in Fresno, California. He had a passion for painting and drawing up until he was hospitalized. He would enjoy his Wednesday and Thursday weekly classes at the Clovis Senior Center. Frank was an a accomplished painter who won many awards for his artistry. He also loved baking his famous biscotti cookies every Easter for his family and friends and making his olives. Frank loved his dogs. He had a dog to love and spoil throughout his years, especially when he was living alone. More than anything Frank loved his boys, his grandkids and great grandkids. Frank is survived by his sisters Clara (Sidoti) Alviani and Jean (Sidoti) Brady; son Franco Sidoti, his wife Michelle and their children Franco Jr., Gina, Joseph D. and Lauren Torres; son Stephen Sidoti, his wife Susan, their children Joseph M., Jenae, Danielle (Sidoti) Lindsey, Nathan, and their grandchildren Caden, Moretti, Ronnie Lindsey III; son James Sidoti, his wife Sarah and their children Dominique, Gianna, and Bronson. A special thank you to niece Janet (Sidoti) Delude for all of her loving care in Frank's last months of hospital care. A special appreciation to Frank's very best friend Valerie Ward and also his high school good friend in life Bill Gifford. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be at Chapel of the Light, 1620 W. Belmont Avenue, Fresno, CA 93728 on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
