(PAPA) Frank, was born on February 26, 1952 in Huron, Ca. He was born to Victoria Sotelo and Francisco De Lira. His siblings include Lupe De Lira, Isabel Cortez, Margaret De Lira, Joe De Lira, Yolanda Sharp and Esther Gonzales. He loved his family and work hard as an electrician for 45 years to provide for his loved ones. Which included his beautiful wife, Velma, whom he knew since grade school. She was his high school sweetheart and they married in 1972 and had three children. They spent their lives mostly in the South Bay area, returned to the Central Valley in 2005 residing in Clovis Ca. His greatest joy as "Papa" was watching his granddaughter and "honorary grand children" grow up. Even on his worst days, "Papa" could be seen playing with one of his grandchildren, which brought him much joy. One of his greatest past times was watching a Broncos or Lakers game with his family, being a devoted fan since 1972. He is survived by his wife, Velma De Lira; children Francisco De Lira III, Diana Elaine Trejo and Joey Perez De Lira; his beautiful granddaughter, Ariana Nicole Garcia; Papa's "little ones" that he called his own, Lisa Garcia, Alicia Garcia, and Miah Catano. He also leaves behind many loving cousins, nephews and nieces who will miss their "Uncle Shank and "Papa Smurf" dearly. Frank, will always be remembered as a man who spared no expense or physical pain to provide for his family and grandchildren. His life can be summed up with the words HARD WORKER... He believed that their was no excuse for a man not to work, he was the greatest example of this principle. 1 timothy 5:8 " But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel." His family thanks him for his hard work and devotion to his wife and children. Enter into your Heavenly Father's Sweet rest... His viewing will be held on Sunday October 8 from 1-5pm at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home, 1620 W. Belmont Ave., Fresno, CA 93728. Services will be held at St. Johns Catholic cathedral, located at 2814 Mariposa St., Fresno, CA 93721, on Monday October 9 at 1030am. A reception to follow at the Cathedral Hall across the street.
