Helen Maryann Schramm Chuhlantseff July 14, 1935 – March 26, 2025 Helen Maryann Schramm Chuhlantseff, a cherished wife, devoted mother, sister, aunt & loving grandmother and great-grandmother, lifelong educator, faithful servant, and treasured friend, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on March 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 89 years old. Born on July 14, 1935, Helen was raised in California, where her father worked the land as a farmer on the Westside. From a young age, Helen carried a quiet strength and a deep compassion for others. She attended Castilleja School and later pursued her education at the University of Southern California. Never one to stop growing, she returned to school at age 50 to earn her Master’s degree in Administration from National University—a reflection of her unwavering determination and lifelong dedication to children and learning. Helen’s life was a testimony of love in action. She devoted over 60 years to education, pouring herself into the hearts of countless students and colleagues. Whether she was in the classroom, leading in administration, or simply offering a gentle word of encouragement, Helen had a gift for seeing the best in people and helping them believe in themselves. Her passion for children was unmatched, and her impact echoes through generations. She was a light in so many lives. Helen married the love of her life, Vladimir M. Chuhlantseff, and together they built a beautiful life anchored in faith, family, and service. She is survived by her loving children: Michael (Susanne), Harold, Elizabeth, Donald (Daniela), and David. Her legacy lives on through her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren: · Tanner and his fiancée, Valerie Aguila, and their children: Brayden, Savannah, and Addison · Zachery and his wife, Gabriella, and their children: Miles and Wren · Angela and her daughter, Avery · Hunter and Hannah · Brooke · Madison and fiancée Dalton Pauley · Logan and his fiancée, Jenny, and their children: Jaxton, Iyona, and Alyka · Matthew She is also survived by her dear brother, Don Schramm (Nada), and many loving nieces and nephews. She now joins her sister Edna Schramm Parichan who preceded her in death. Her family was her pride and joy. Nothing made her happier than attending her grandchildren’s games, performances, graduations, and celebrations. She was always there—smiling wide, cheering loud, and loving big. Helen had a deep love for music. She found joy in playing the piano and organ and often volunteered to play at Masses at St. Therese Catholic Church. Her faith was her foundation, and she lived it daily through acts of kindness and service. She was generous with her time, her talents, and her heart. Helen also loved to cook—especially to bake. She poured her love into the kitchen, and her holiday baking was nothing short of legendary. Every Christmas, her home was filled with the comforting smell of fresh-baked cookies—over 20 varieties she joyfully made and gifted to family, friends, and neighbors. It was one of her favorite traditions, a true labor of love that brought delight to everyone around her. At home, she found peace in the simple things: tending her garden, planting flowers, and picking fruit from her trees—always sharing her bounty with those she loved. Her home was a haven of warmth, filled with music, food, laughter, and joy. A funeral Mass celebrating Helen’s incredible life will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church 855 E Floradora Ave, Fresno Ca 93728 on April 22, 2025, at 10:30 AM, with a reception to follow at the St. Therese Church Reception Hall. Helen’s favorite Bible verse was Galatians 5:22: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.” Helen lived every word of that verse. Her legacy will forever live on in the love she gave, the faith she shared, and the countless lives she touched with her gentle spirit and radiant heart. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Helen’s memory by contributing to the Helen Chuhlantseff Educational Scholarship Fund through a Non-Profit—a cause close to her heart.
