Louisa Velasco, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on November 27, 1956, Louisa lived a life rooted deeply in faith, family, and unconditional love. Her greatest purpose and pride in life was being a mother and grandmother. She poured her heart into raising her children and later found immense joy in helping raise, nurture, and spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To Louisa, family was everything, and she made sure every person who entered her home felt loved, welcomed, and cared for. Louisa was known for creating lasting memories through her cooking and family traditions. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where she lovingly prepared meals that brought everyone together. She was especially known for her delicious enchiladas, homemade tamales, candy apples, and the cookies her family eagerly looked forward to each year, especially her beloved persimmon cookies. Holidays were her favorite time, and she took great pride in preparing large family meals, particularly Thanksgiving. The holiday held an extra special place in her heart when it fell on her birthday, as she cherished celebrating both occasions surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and loved ones. Louisa’s love was shown through the little things — making sure everyone was fed, checking in on her family, offering comfort, and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and togetherness. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she celebrated every milestone, big or small, with pride and joy. Her nurturing spirit, selflessness, kindness, and gentle heart left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Louisa is survived by her loving husband, Felipe Velasco, her cherished children, Henry Vega and his wife Cassie, Robert Vega and his wife Monica, Maria Felix and her husband Lucas, Sonia Vega, Isidro Ramos and his wife Pita, Veronica Ramos, and Patricia Ramirez and her husband Alexander. She also leaves behind 28 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, who were truly the pride and joy of her life. She is also survived by her siblings, Cynthia Pico, Rosie Villalobos, and Gene Pico. She was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Jesse Richard Garcia and Tino Alanis, and her brothers, Carl Pico and Leo Trevino. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Christian Center in Fresno. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with burial immediately afterward at Saint Peter’s Catholic Cemetery. Louisa’s life was a beautiful example of devotion, strength, love, and faith. Her legacy will live on through the traditions she created the meals she lovingly prepared, and the countless memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
